in her honor

This page is a sacred space to honor the women whose courage, strength, and dignity have touched our hearts. Their journeys remind us why this work matters — and why it must continue.

Her Legacy Lives On

"She was not defined by her diagnosis. She was defined by her courage, her grace, and the love she poured into everyone around her."

Lisa Jean Benike

Lisa J. Benike was the very first person to believe in the mission of Crown Her Courage Foundation. Lisa leaves behind a legacy defined by love, generosity, strength, and unwavering courage. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose home and heart were always open. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and loved. To know Lisa was to experience her kindness, encouragement, and selfless spirit.

Even in the face of a long and difficult journey, Lisa continued to think of others. Near the end of her life, she asked that memorials be directed to Crown Her Courage Foundation. That simple yet powerful act of generosity became a source of encouragement for us and a reminder of why this mission matters. Her belief in helping women navigate some of life’s most challenging moments continues to guide and inspire our work every day.

Lisa faced her battle with extraordinary courage, grace, and resilience. She showed us what it means to keep fighting, to keep loving, and to keep giving—even when the road is difficult. Her strength will never be forgotten.

Through every woman we support, every family we serve, and every act of compassion made possible through this foundation, Lisa’s legacy lives on. We are honored to carry her memory forward and to help women find the courage to fight, advocate, and persevere—just as she did.

“Courage is not the absence of fear, but the strength to move forward despite it.”

Forever remembered. Forever honored. Forever part of the Crown Her Courage story.
